logoWebWe were just talking to a friend of ours who owns a self-storage business. He was mentioning how many times he’s heard “will my stuff be safe in a self-storage unit.” He’s honestly getting tired of hearing it, but he has some really good answers every time he does. “Storage units have no windows for thieves to break.” “It’s under 24-hour surveillance,”  and “the locks that most people put on their self-storage units trump the average house lock!”

That made us start thinking…storage units are actually safer than our houses! And while we can’t help you install unbreakable glass in your home, we can make sure that your locks are top-of-the-line, because far too many locks today are easily defeatable. Here are a few new products we can offer you.

Fingerprint Locks: Pretty cool, huh? If you’ve ever used fingerprint identification on a phone, you know just how much more convenient it is to simply press you finger to the screen. You don’t have to dig in your pocket for the key, find the right one, put it in and turn it, all while carrying groceries. It’s almost an effortless process, and so secure because no one has your same fingerprints.

Keypad Locks: Keypad locks are great because of their ability to be programmed with multiple codes. You’ve got your regular code that you and the family use. But you can also have a code for the maid, and if you change maids you simply change the code. Create codes for a single night for the new babysitter, all without ever giving out your easily-duplicated house key!

Don’t Forget Your Door: Also, remember that your lock is only as good as your door and door jam, so make sure to find an excellent door that can hold up to crowbars.

Find the right lock and your home will be that much more secure. Give Pop-A-Lock a call for all your locksmith service needs!
